Day 8 Leviticus 1:1 - Leviticus 14:32

Leviticus 1:1-9:24 Offerings & Priests Consecrated
  • God made a distinction between sins committed in ignorance versus those committed knowingly. He further stipulated that the guilt of a sin committed in ignorance became known once it was realized as a sin. Keep in mind that the further the Israelites were from Egypt (time wise) and from Moses' speaking directly to them about God's Laws, Statutes, and Ordinances, that they were only given the information on the High Holy Days (which is what made attending them so important). We are blessed to have access to God's Word and are expected to commune in it daily for our protection, proof, ability to stay healthy and away from temptation of the very things/peoples of this world that continually tripped up Israel. It's easy to sit in our present day and judge the Israelites' many failings not understanding that they did not have such access to read and reread for themselves daily.
  • Thankfully Christ became our blood sacrifice so we no longer have to follow the rituals of the blood ordinances in our daily walk today. We simply have to repent for our sins rather than offer up sin, trespass, peace, and wave offerings.  Nailed To The Cross
  • The Offerings served two purposes: 1) the ability for sins to be wiped away and 2) to prove (proof) the Israelites' obedience to God. God continues and always to prove His children through their knowledge and obedience to His instructions to us.
Leviticus 10:1-7 Nadab & Abihu
  • The "strange fire" was Nadab and Abihu (Aaron's sons/priests) bringing in and creating fire of their own making/choosing against that for which God had commanded them to do. Right out of the gate, the keepers of God's command went with what was easy as opposed to what was proof of their obedience. God is not unreasonable or unnatural. He stipulated processes in part for Israelites' (our) protection, and in part to test (prove) the Israelites' heart in following Him.
Leviticus 10:8-14:32 Health Ordinances
  • God provides both the commands of Law (which still exist today), the blood ordinances/offerings (which changed in process (repent for sins) when Christ became our blood ordinance for all time), and in Health Ordinances/Statutes (which are not a sin against God/our soul, but against the flesh bodies He created). As God created our flesh bodies, He knows beyond what even our present day science knows/understands about how they work and what keeps them healthy (we only in recent past century discovered DNA for which was spoken of in Genesis). God will not condemn us to a spiritual death based on breaking these health laws, but rather we condemn our health in these flesh bodies by not following God's instructions of what keeps them healthy.
  • Leviticus 11 outlines the Food Laws. All of God's creatures are perfectly made in their function and purpose for which they were created. Whether they are good for consumption is based upon their purpose (scavengers were created to keep the earth and seas clean and are a necessary purpose served....eating them however is unhealthy to our flesh bodies. Their very structure created for their purpose (whether or not they are eating the filthiest of earthly/sea trash or man served foods, their system is such to serve their purpose which is unhealthy for us to consume). Health Laws

Quite right, who am I to post such a blog as this?  I am no one. I do not claim to be better or wiser than anyone. I completely profess to be a student of God's Word and am only looking to share knowledge that I have gleamed from deep study in God's Word over the past 25 years. I fully acknowledge that the understanding and knowledge that I have obtained is a blessing from God in providing me with teachers and tools over the years to lead me to a greater understanding of His Word. I completely adhere to the statement that: For Everything that I am and Everything that I am yet to be, I owe to God! Thanks always be to Him!!! Only through God's direction and guidance am I sharing this with you. Whether you dig into God's Word to prove me wrong or to prove me right, it makes no difference as long as you are digging into God's Word and arriving at a deeper understanding of Him and His path for you!

Now read on for the most recent Post ;-)  Note that in trying to outline a flow of understanding some of the studies presented are not in full depth.  Once I get past a certain point and have put forth the foundation of understanding, I will go back to those needing more depth with additional posts.  Also, know that all of the Appendices posted herein are from the Bullinger's King James Companion Bible.

Also, know that my husband came across another site offering free access to The Companion Bible, King James Version (also referred to as the Bullinger King James Companion Bible).  Here is a link for those interested:  http://www.levendwater.org/companion/frameset.htm?The%20Companion%20Bible%20-%20Bullinger/index.htm&inhoudsopgave_companion.htm

Day 7 Exodus 29:1 - Exodus 40:38

Exodus 29:1-31:18 Priests/Offerings
  • These blood ordinances (sin offerings) are what Christ replaced when He died on the Cross. He became our blood offering. He did not replace the Law itself, just the ordinances. Nailed To The Cross
  • Olive oil is our anointing oil. Anointing
Exodus 32:1-35 Golden Calf
  • Everyone of Israel knew the 10 Commandments, the Laws and Ordinances after Moses' 3rd ascent of Mt. Sinai. They were well aware of the Commandment not to worship other gods/idols. When Moses was with God the 4th time (for 40 days), the Israelites built the golden calf to worship....making God especially angry with their actions against the Law.
Exodus 33:1-40:38 Israel Resumes Journey / 2nd Tablets

  • Even in Israel's sins God honors His covenant with Abraham/Isaac/Jacob and renews it.
  • The reason for no one living if they see God's face (see His spiritual other dimensional being) is simply that in these flesh bodies we can not see spiritual bodies in the other dimension. As we are in two separate dimensions, (unless God chooses to materialize in this dimension through transfiguration) we would have to be dead in the flesh and live in the spiritual to be in that dimension).
  • The purpose for driving out the Canaanites, Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites from Canaan (the Promised Land) was because of their mixing with the fallen angels in the second influx (after the Flood) and them practicing pagan rituals (grove worship). As proven with the Golden Calf, Israel could not be trusted even for 40 days to not fall under pagan examples. These people were to be driven out of the land, not intermixed with in marriage, and not made covenants with or permitted to stay in the land.
  • After all 6 ascents, the giving of the Law multiple times, and the building of the Tabernacle Israel had been departed from Egypt one full year. The Tabernacle was completed and set up as instructed the first day of the first month (Abib) in the second year from the Exodus.

Day 6 Exodus 15:19 - Exodus 28:43

Exodus 15:19-17:16 Israel's Murmurings
  • Three days out from the Red Sea and into the Wilderness of Shur (upper Sinai Peninsula) and the murmurings started about the lack of water. God supplied a tree which when cast into the waters made it sweet and drinkable.
  • God put forth the If/Then of if the Israelites would hearken to the voice of the Lord and do that which is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments, keep His statutes, then He would not be against them as He was the Egyptians.
  • Interjection: God's humor is funny ha ha to me....Israel complains about bitter water and He parks them in Elim where there are 12 wells of water and 70 palm trees. What do the Israelites do, they then complain about hunger.
  • As the Israelites journeyed from Elim and into the Wilderness of Sin (southern Sinai Peninsula), they again murmured with regard to not having all they could eat until they were full. God's answer was to give them manna (manna meaning "what is that?") in the morning and quail in the evening.
  • The battle of Amalek was him fighting Israel for well water as was the case in Genesis 21:25. Rephidim is located in southern Sinai.
Exodus 18:1-27 Jethro
  • Chapter 18 in Exodus is a parenthetical so not clear if timeline wise it was before or after the 10 Commandments were issued. Either way, there were clearly laws/ordinances/statutes prior to the defined Commandments issued at Mt. Sinai.
  • Jethro (Moses' father-in-law, the Midianite priest) met Moses in the Wilderness of Sin because he was bringing Moses back his wife (Zipporah) and his two sons (Gershom and Eliezer). Moses had sent them to Midian previously.
  • The mount of God is thought by most to be the same as Mt. Horeb and Mt. Sinai (as Mt. Horeb and Mt. Sinai are used interchangeably and thought to be the same mountain with different names at different times in history/writings). Mt. Sinai is located in southern Sinai.
Exodus 19:1-27:21 The Ten Commandments

  • The reference "in the third month" in Exodus 19:1 is to it being the 3rd month of the year. They left Egypt in the 1st month, so this puts the two months from the Red Sea/in the wilderness (50 days).
    • Note, that 50 days from Passover is Pentecost (Feast of Harvest/first fruits) which would later become one of the three feasts to be kept through the year.
  • House of Jacob=All 12 natural born Tribes of Israel.
  • Moses ascended/descended Mt. Sinai six times:

Ascents                                  Descents
19:3-6               First             19:7-8
19:8-13             Second         19:14-19
19:20-24           Third           19:25
24:9-32:14        Fourth         32:15-30
32:31-33           Fifth             32:34-34:3
34:4-28             Sixth             34:29-35

  • Exodus 20:5 does not mean that children pay for the sins of their parents. It means that if the sins continue through the generations each will pay for the continued sins.  Sins of the Father
  • When Moses ascended the 3rd time, God gave him the 10 Commandments orally. Moses relayed those laws to all of Israel before ascending the 4th time for the 40 days/40 nights for the Tabernacle and Priest instructions and the stone tablets of the written 10 Commandments.
  • The 3 feasts to be kept, Exodus 23:14-19:
    • Feast of Unleavened Bread=Passover, 14 days following Spring Equinox, 1st month of the year which is Abib (March/April).
    • Feast of Harvest, Firstfruits=Pentecost, 50 days following Passover (May/June)
    • Feast of Ingathering=Feast of Tabernacle, Sept/Oct
      • The Spiritual Year begins at Abib/Passover
      • The Civil Year begins at Feast of Tabernacles which is why it is referenced as end of the year
Exodus 28:1-43 Aaron/Priests Set Apart

  • An excellent study on the breastplate of the priest was done by E. Raymond Capt, titled "The Gem Stones in the Breastplate".
  • No instructions on the creation of the Urim and the Thummin, just that they were to be put in the breastplate for judgment, Exodus 28:30. The Urim and the Thummin were most likely two stones for which God's judgment could be relayed through the casting lots (using these stones). More on this in a deeper study later.

Unexpected Hiatus

The last couple of weeks and continuing into this week have been a whirlwind of expected and unexpected medical and personal obstacles. On all fronts, God has been extremely good to me, and while it has been trying, stressful, painful, difficult, it has also been rewarding, doable, and blessed. I am still healing from the medical procedure, and have several more procedures to go before the year is out, but have good news and many things for which to be grateful! With God all things are possible, and I continue to work and rest in Him! I will be back on the "90 Days" postings which obviously aren't as I planned, but what will work out for the best. Thanks for continuing to check back...my hope is to have regular posts resuming later this week!!!
